Is God Gonna Getcha?

Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Proverb 15:11

So many think God is looking for an excuse to punish us, He's out to get us.

No! God is looking for a way to get us to understand He loves us. He knows what lies before us. He knows the hurting and confusion we've already experienced. He wants to communicate with us in a loving spirit.

Do you remember scraping your knee? The worst part seemed to be Mom cleaning the wound. You wanted a bandaid to cover the wound but not the cleaning to prevent infection. Cleaning might hurt. Yes, it might sting for a moment but that's better than the infection.

When Satan tried to take over heaven he and his angels were cast out without hope of ever returning. Their time is reserved for hell.

But God, wanting to show love to His children provided a way for us to enter heaven.

God's only desire is to clean the wound sin has made in our lives. Often we may only want to turn over a new leaf, put a bandaid on the problem. Yes, the process of allowing God to clean up our lives may sting but God knows the end result is so much better than the alternative.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Hey Kids:

What's worse cleaning up a skinned knee or the blood?
Actually, bleeding is part of the process of cleaning a wound.

When the bleeding stops if there is still dirt around the wound, infection can set in and make the wound worse. That's why Mom insists on cleaning the scrape.

What is the hardest thing about living for Jesus? Removing the things or people that might draw you back into your old life.

“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”
II Corinthians 6:17,18 NKJV
